Hi there! We are the Tanner family — Bryan and Lisa, and our twelve children, ranging from twenty-four years old down to a toddler. Below is a quick introduction to each member of the family — the way we'd introduce them in person: plainly, and with a little pride.
The Family Roll
14 entriesis the director of Missionary Acres. He spends his days supporting the staff and caring for the residents. After work, he enjoys playing board games with the family.
Lisa left a teaching career to homeschool and care for the arrows God has given their family. She also helps around Missionary Acres with weekly bulletins, updating the website, and other needs that arise.
Jayme, our oldest, graduated from College of the Ozarks with a degree in graphic design and computer art. She’s currently living at home while she builds her freelance design business.
Owen has Angelman Syndrome, which means he’s missing a portion of his 15th chromosome. He learned to walk at age 7, though limited balance and endurance mean you’ll often find him in his wheelchair, especially when we're in public. Owen is nonverbal — you’ll get a big grin and maybe a hearty hug, but not a “hello.”
Jeffrey is a hard worker with a keen eye for noticing what needs to be done. Though he still has a year left of high school, he feels God has called him into foreign missions, so he's praying for wisdom about Bible college and the path ahead.
Ellie is a creative spirit who loves counted cross-stitch, knitting, and playing the piano. She’s always eager to try new crafts and has a gift for including the younger kids in projects and play. As she gear up to finish high school this year, she’s praying for wisdom about God’s plan for her future.
Sydney loves helping people. She has a heart for others and is kind to everyone she meets. She enjoys embroidering (especially pillowcases), reading, and working on her music skills.
Simon is an energetic soul who loves talking to people. He enjoys listening to audiobooks, tackling organizing projects, and being outside.
Brynna loves books — both reading and listening to audiobooks. She enjoys writing her own songs that praise God, and is learning to play the clarinet.
Bryson loves playing outside with his siblings. He enjoys telling stories, making up his own games, and drawing.
Tyler is working hard on his reading and writing and enjoys active play outside.
Ezra ("Ezzie") loves being outside. He has a big heart and enjoys listening to stories and drawing.
Sally loves being around people! She was born without enamel on her front teeth, so if you notice her smile is a little toothless, that's why — we're praying her adult teeth come in normally.
Marcus is a busy toddler trying hard to keep up with his older siblings. You'll often find him with a toy car in hand.
Curious how we got here?
